When Clothes Don’t Fit
We buy clothes to fit US, not so that WE have to fit into THEM.
Read that again and again and again.
Look, if the shoe isn’t the right size, you don’t blame yourself for having too little/big of a foot, you simply try on another size.
and don’t get me started on how different sizing is depending on what store you’re shopping at…
We go to the store and we try on different styles, sizes, colors, cuts until we find something that we like. If we don’t like it, we put it back on the shelf and move on. We choose certain styles and such to help us showcase our personalities, but articles of clothing do NOT define us.
They don’t get to let you doubt yourself.
They don’t get to ruin your night.
They don’t get to let you feel anything less than beautiful or confident.
They don’t get to dictate whether you’ll walk up to that guy or girl.
They don’t get to decide your worth.
They DO get to show you off.
They DO get to help you showcase your personality.
They DO get to make you feel like a queen/king.
They DO get to help you feel more confident in your own skin.
They DO get to help you feel more comfortable.
Find things that make you feel like your best self - AS YOU ARE.
Anything else, doesn’t get to sit in your closet anymore. BUH BYE.
