“I sought out Azul because I had a hard time holding myself accountable with consistent workouts. The inertia was strong! I also wanted some support around building in regular movement to build muscle and help me feel good about myself in the months leading up to a big family event. I was a little afraid of spending the money and worried that I still wouldn't be able to hold myself accountable to show up for the workouts.
Azul has helped me build a much healthier relationship with my body and weight, and with movement/exercise in general. She’s helped me find pride in my accomplishments and joy in movement. I've built healthy habits with compassion and logic rather than judgment and shame. I have also learned to readjust and evolve my approach when needed, again with compassion vs. judgment. Since beginning my workouts with Azul I have started jogging, doing additional workouts and building in movement outside of our sessions. Having Azul to check in with or be cheered on by is so helpful through it all.
After a few years working with Azul, I feel able to compassionately and enthusiastically support myself through the ups and downs of working out, sometimes more consistently or less. When I broke my arm this year, Azul's understanding, emotional support and guidance through reintroducing exercise were all really helpful. At one point working out several times a week was a no-brainer. While I'm not there anymore, she's made it all seem more possible and accessible. Though I am currently in a period of working out less consistently, I know that I have the tools to build more movement back in when ready. She's taught me that life is not about being perfect all the time but about finding what works for you as your life changes and evolves. Overall, I have a healthier, more loving relationship with my body and mind because of my work with Azul. I feel a lot of pride when I can lift heavier, use my body in daily life, and even recover from injury as I am doing now.

“I first started training on my own at age 18, but now in my 50s, I had begun to have the occasional aches, pains and sometimes minor injuries that can come with age. “Prior to working with Azul, I had no sense of direction for myself in regard to my physical health and relationship with food. I would seek information from unreliable sources, I vacillated between motivated and completely checked out, and I wasn't really sure what I wanted for myself. During the Covid lockdowns, I found myself barely moving my body and relying on take-out consistently. A friend of mine sent me Azul’s website and Instagram which ultimately led to me seeking her support and since then I’ve had multiple breakthroughs. For one, I have never worked out consistently in my life, and now for the last year and a half, I have worked out multiple times per week. I'm about 1.5 years into this relationship and I feel I still have so much more to learn.
