Unpopular Opinion: Stop Focusing on Your “Goal”

Whatever that milestone is.

Whatever that thing you're working on is.

If you stop focusing on the end goal (whatever that is for you) and shift your focus on the experience that is the work (showing up every day and doing said behaviors/practices) one day you're going to wake up and be where you want to be.

...but you won't get there (or it'll be extremely painful to - and perhaps you’ll burnout) if you don't learn to love the process. If you don't make the process work for YOU. If you focus too much on the end goal, you'll get discouraged and you'll miss out on everything that's happening right now.

Let me clarify by saying, I’m not telling you to not have any goals, but to only focus on the end goal and not enjoy what you’re doing to get to said goal might make it 1) really hard to achieve and painful and 2) you might never achieve it because you’ll get frustrated with how long it takes or how hard it is because you’re not focused on enjoying the way there. IF you can find a way to enjoy the journey more and focus on the little steps and little wins along the way, therefore being more consistent overall, you’ll eventually get to your goal!

So, remember, focus on the experience, not on the end goal.
