If You Stress Out About Going to the Beach…

If you stress out about what you eat before going to the beach…

I went to Target the other day and when I came back home, Tyler opened the door and there I was with two different types of desserts in one arm and a bikini in the other arm, and he immediately said, "This feels like it needs a post."

…and he was right.

I remember the days I used to try and "control" what I ate before a beach day because I didn't want to "look" a certain way. I'd try and eat really "well" (aka restrict) and only eat foods from a certain category in my mind. The morning of the beach day I'd try to eat nothing at all. I'd try really hard to go #2 beforehand, and at the beach I'd also limit what I'd allow myself to eat.

…ALL for ONE beach day.

I'd stress out and make it into such an epidemic for ONE BEACH DAY.

A day that's SUPPOSED to be stress free and fun.

A day that's SUPPOSED to be about hanging out with friends and enjoying the sun and water.

NOT…

a day revolved around what we look like

a day to focus on what we THINK other people (that we’ll never see again) think about us

^ those ppl aren’t going to even remember you.

^ and if you're worried about what your own friends will think about you, get new friends.

a day about taking photos just so we remember what our body looked like.

Those aren't the reasons you go to the beach.

The beach isn’t a catwalk.

So, eat the damn ice cream, then go to the damn beach in your bikini, and have the most amazing fucking day of your life, because that's why you're there, to have a great day at the beach.
