Foundation of Being Enough.
There’s a difference between wanting to eat well and workout because you think you’re not enough as you are and need to change to be worthy of love versus wanting to eat well and workout because you believe you are enough as you are and worthy of being taken care of.
Build from that foundation of being enough.
Our thoughts put us in a certain biological state. What we THINK about ourselves matters, and it matters a lot. When we do things from a place of punishment, we’re self-critical instead of encouraging, we’re self-deprecating instead of motivating. You’re waging a war against yourself instead of being an ally. There’s a power in the place of peace and connection within you. Your body can relax and respond the way it’s supposed to, it’s not in a stressed fight or flight mode, and it’s no longer working against you. There’s a beautiful mind body connection made in that moment. When you tap into that place of connection, you’re guided by intuition rather than external noise. You’re guided by love instead of hate. You have a friend, not an enemy.
That feeling of being enough is a restoration of safety. It’s your body knowing it can trust you and vice versa. Being able to tune in and listen to your body then becomes much easier. Doing things FOR yourself leads to greater satisfaction, sustainability and happiness. Health and self-care are not destinations, they’re a journey, they will always be a journey. Might as well enjoy it. Exercise in a way that makes you feel good (find things you enjoy doing). Eat in a way that makes you feel good (nourishing yourself physically and emotionally). Build a strong community. Find love. All those things. Just remember…
