“Becoming your best self” isn’t a destination; it’s a daily action.

Listen to The Episode Here

You’re not going to wake up one day as the person you want to be.

I used to think that my “best self” was out there in the future, waiting for me.

I imagined a version of myself who had it all together… I’d wake up early, eat perfectly balanced meals, go to the gym regularly, my business would be thriving and I’d travel the world. I’d be super confident and feel secure in my own self-worth.

I thought one day, I’d wake up and just be that person.

I thought wrong.

What I didn’t realize, was that she… was me.

The best version of me wasn’t hiding in the future.

She wasn’t a destination.

She wasn’t something I had to chase.

“Becoming your best self,” isn’t a destination, it’s more of a daily action.

It’s about showing up and trying your best every day, even on the days you only have 30% to give.

Your daily actions are what shape you into the person you want to “become.”

  • If you want to BE the person that works out consistently, start working out consistently.

  • If you want to BE the person that wakes up early, start waking up early.

  • If you want to BE the person that cooks more meals at home instead of eating out, start cooking more meals at home.

  • If you want to BE the person who walks into a room confidently, start walking into rooms confidently.

So, instead of seeing it as “becoming” your best self, think of it as “being” your best self.

Ask, “What would the person I want to be do in this situation?”

Then, DO that. BE that person.

Instead of setting goals that feel far away (e.g., I want to be fit), focus on the identity you want to embody (I am someone who moves my body every day) and practices those small, daily actions to reinforce your identity.

Because the truth is, you’re not going to magically wake up on day as the person you want to be. Motivation isn’t going to just slap you in the face or hold your hand as you get out of bed one day.

You just have to actually BE that person. DO the thing.

The best version of you isn’t created in the future by the choices you make today.

Your best self is the you that’s making those choices right now.

You don't just become, you are.

Ok, now go be your best damn self.
