Hop On This Trend: Baked Oats

I’d like to preface this with a little background story: When I lived in NYC, I severely over did it with the oatmeal in the morning. I made every type of oatmeal you can imagine: regular oats, long low-simmer oats, savory oats, overnight oats, etc. I haven't touched oatmeal in years UNTIL the Baked Oats trend came up recently and I had to give it a try. Cake in the morning? Sign me up.

I love oats cause they’re such a great source of energy, protein and fiber - all things I want in the morning, especially a Monday…

Here’s there recipe I made:

  • 1/3 Cup Oat Flour*

  • 1/3 Cup Nut Milk

  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1 Tbsp Nut Butter (Optional)

  • 1 Tbsp Flax Seed Powder (Optional)

  • 1/2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

  • Pinch of Salt

  • Sprinkle of Cinnamon (Optional)

  • Sprinkle of Cardamon (Optional)

  • Sprinkle of Ginger (Optional)

  • Protein Powder (Splash More of Milk) (Optional)

  • Dark Chocolate Chips (Optional, but I mean...)

Whisk all ingredients together.
Place in the oven (pre-heated of course) at 415F for 20-25min

*I bought Plain Rolled Oats and blended the entire bag to a flour and then put back into back for easy scooping.

It takes about 5 min to put together and add to the oven, so what I do is put it together first thing in the morning, pop in the oven, THEN go do my morning routine and when I’m done it’s ready! Yum!

There’s an account on IG @tracesoats that has got tons of fun flavors and blends if you want to be inspired and overwhelmed at the same time.
