Athletes Eat & Train, They Don’t Diet & Exercise

Why is it that athletes eat and train, yet we're told to diet and exercise?

An athlete’s primary concern isn’t aesthetics.

An athlete’s primary concern is performing their absolute best.

That means, being at their best.

They train to be able to compete in their sport.

They train so they can get stronger, perform better.

They train to prevent injury.

They eat to help build muscle to get stronger.

They eat to provide themselves with the energy they need to perform.

They eat to heal their bodies.

It’s not all about looks. The way they look is a byproduct of how they eat and train, it’s not the goal or intention. That would distract from the purpose.

Athletes are told to eat and train to grow.
We're told to diet and exercise to shrink.

Language matters. Intention matters.

What if I told you that you ARE an athlete, and you’re training for life.

It sounds cheesy, but think about it.

How much easier would this game of life be if…

you felt energized all the time.

you felt stronger and capable of accomplishing any task.

you trusted your body could handle anything.

you could do things without losing your breath quickly.

you could pick something up without hurting your back.

you could recover quicker from illness and injury.

you could age more comfortably.

you could run faster, in case of emergency.

You, my friend, are training for life.

Remember that.

EAT to nourish your body and give it the energy it needs to perform.

TRAIN to keep your body ready and able.

That will LOOK different on everyone.

The point is, take care of this one body you have becuase…

You’re training to live a hell of a good life.

Am I right?
