What is a “Bad” Food vs. “"Good” Food

Let’s start here…

There is no BAD food.

There is no GOOD food.

You aren't a better person if you eat "good” foods.

You aren't a worse person if you eat "bad."

So let's stop the...

"I was so bad yesterday, I ate so many carbs."

"I was so good today, I didn't eat ice cream for dessert."

“I was bad this weekend, I ate so much.”

Look…

If you're an a**hole, but you eat raw broccoli, you're still an a**hole.

If you're a loving and generous person, and you eat ice cream, you're still a great person.

Are there foods that have more nutritional content in them? Yes.

Are there foods that out bodies digest better than others? Yes.

Are there foods that help our bodies thrive a bit more than others? Yes.

You can recognize all that and you can learn how to make choices that will help your body thrive and do well for you, without feeling shitty about yourself when you decide you want a cookie.

WATCH THIS:

When we let go of "bad" and "good" foods we let go of the GUILT and SHAME that comes with eating certain foods. When we can let go of that guilt and shame, we can see food AS WHAT IT IS, just food. When we can see food, as just food, we let go of some of that POWER that certain foods have on us. When we can let go of the mental power certain foods have on us we can start to really practice exploring different types of foods we can enjoy and learn how to incorporate all types of nutrients into our diets. From a place of love, not a place of fear, guilt or shame.

The next meal or snack you have, try this: Eat whatever it is, with no thoughts about it. It’s just a food, that you’re eating.

It won’t be easy at first, but over time, it will get easier.
