Using “Would It Be Nice Of Me…” To Make Balanced Choices

The next time you’re thinking, “I don’t know how to gauge if I’m living balanced or not,” here are some questions to ask yourself:

Would it be nice of me to always feed my body processed foods? No.

Would it be nice of me to always feed my body things that don't taste good? No.

Would it be nice of me to feed my body foods that nourish and help me? Yes.

Would it be nice of me to feed my body foods that I crave sometimes? Yes.

Let's put it in a slightly different context for those of us that care more about others than ourselves:

Would it be nice of me to always feed my child/pet processed foods? No.

Would it be nice of me to always feed my child/pet that don't taste good? No.

Would it be nice of me to feed my child/pet foods that nourish their body? Yes.

Would it be nice of me to feed my child/pet foods that they crave sometimes? Yes.

Think of balance as being kind. It’s not the necessarily the nicest thing to always do one thing or the other (restrict or binge), that’s why we call it balance.
