Turn Your Excuse Into Your Why

I read this Instagram Coach's email and thought OH.MY.GOSH this is brilliant and I could totally parallel this to fitness/nutrition/self-care, so here we go:

What are you using as an excuse that really should be your catalyst?

Your kids are your catalyst, not your excuse.

Taking care of yourself through working out and eating well makes you a better parent. Not only does it allow you to keep up with them physically as they grow up and ensure you'll be around to meet your grandkids, but it also shows your kids the importance of putting themselves and their health first. It helps them develop healthier habits earlier on in life and establishes a healthy relationship with movement and nutrition.

Your busy schedule is your catalyst, not your excuse.

Your packed days are proof you know how to manage time and balance your priorities. Adding working out or meal prepping or meditation to the list is not time wasted, but time invested in feeling and performing at your best. A break to practice self-care is probably exactly what you need to come back refreshed and ready to crush your busy day. There are tons of short and easy workouts and meal preps that are efficient and effective!

Your budget is your catalyst, not your excuse.

Financial constraints inspire creativity. You don’t need fancy gear or expensive foods – simplicity in movement and nutrition is just as powerful and effective. Walking/Running is free. There are a lot of YouTube workouts or inexpensive fitness apps that are great. Buying produce is inexpensive. Want to make it even cheaper? Buy canned or frozen!

Your lack of support is your catalyst, not your excuse.

The absence of a support system can drive you to find or build a community of people who uplift and encourage each other. Fitness meetups are great way to make new friends (like a run or walk club, hiking meetup, group fitness classes, etc.) You could also take a cooking class to meet new people! Enroll in a newsletter (or follow an IG account) that lets you know when people are meeting up to practice self-care activities.

Your failures are your catalyst, not your excuse.

Every setback is a lesson learned, bringing you one step closer to where you want to be with the wisdom of experience. If you never fail, it means you never try. If you never try, it means you're choosing to stay where you are. Don't let the fear of failure keep you from achieving your dreams. We're taught to fear failure, when instead we should WANT to fail more.

Your age is your catalyst, not your excuse.

Whether you’re young and building lifelong habits or older with hard-won wisdom, use your stage in life as a source of strength and motivation. It's never too late (or too early) to implement new habits and live a healthier life. I've worked with plenty of clients who were 60+ years of age and have seen them completely turn their lives around.

The question is…

Are you going to let your circumstances define your limitations, or are you going to use them to propel you forward?

Feel free to comment below and let me know your thoughts 😉
